665 DELAYED MATCH-TO-SAMPLE
The delayed match-to-sample task is a recognition memory task in which subjects are asked to recognize information which they have previously seen. The task requires maintenance rehearsal and provides a means of assessing the effects of proactive and retroactive interference on intact short-term memory functions. Experimenter options include: stimulus category (4); number of trials (1 to 30); interference condition (two-number addition problems); delay interval (1 to 180 seconds); sample duration (1 to 10 seconds); and stimulus set (perseverative, mixed, or nonperseverative).
